Ein oft auftretender Defekt betrifft den DC Plug des YoYo Netzteils, der in die Stromaufnahmebuchse im iBook gesteckt wird. Wenn das Kabel aufgrund von Materialermüdung gleich hinter dem Stecker bricht, ist Gefahr im Verzug - das Netzteil sollte dann nicht weiter benutzt werden. Ein Kurzschluss kann als Folge leicht das DC-in Board des iBooks oder das Logicboard selbst zerstören. Ersatznetzteile von Drittherstellern sind bereits ab 15 Euro erhältlich.

| All in all, the keynote audience was very pleased with the iBook except for two points: pricing and availability. At $1599, $400 more than the iMac, I think the iBook is reasonably priced for a consumer portable, but more than people had hoped for. TFT displays and six-hour batteries don’t come cheap, after all.
