Bei der Einführung des iBooks warb Steve Jobs nicht nur damit, dass das iBook 200 Dollar billiger sei als das günstigste Windows Notebook, sondern auch doppelt so schnell. Apple schob später einen plattformunabhängigen Performancetest nach, der beweisen sollte, dass sogar höher getaktete Pentium Prozessoren locker abgehängt wurden.
