Schließlich kam dann aber doch noch Begeisterung in den Reihen der Fans auf. Nacheinander glitten nämlich drei neue "iBook"-Modelle in neuen Farben ("Indigo" und "Key Lime") aus dem Boden: Der "Firewire"-Anschluss für das Andocken digitaler Videokameras gehört nun auch bei den "iMacs zum Mitnehmen" zum Standard. Das Spitzenmodell "iBook Special Edition" in leicht verändertem, nach wie vor aber grauen Outfit ("Graphite") kommt zudem mit einem eingebauten DVD-Rom-Laufwerk, das auch das Abspielen von DVD-Videos möglich macht.
