Verglichen mit dem überschwänglichen Lob für das Clamshell Design kommt Steve Jobs Vorstellungspräsentation auf dem iBook Special Event 2001 für das neue Modell eher mit nackten Fakten und einem direkten optischen Vergleich mit einem fetten Dell Notebook daher.
