The iBook Clamshell series was replaced in 2001 by the new white iBook. But soon Apple had to face a growing number of complaints about logicboard failures. The Expanded iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program was a worldwide program covering repair or replacement of the logic board in iBook models manufactured between May 2001 and October 2003 that are experiencing specific component failures - it ended in July 2007. The program was available for certain iBook G3 models (see below for a complete list) with serial numbers in the following range:UV117XXXXXX to UV342XXXXXX iBooks with the serial numbers listed above may be referred to as:
