![]() 10 Discontinued Apple Products We Miss 5: The "Clamshell" iBook (Debuted: 1999; Discontinued: 2001) It isn't hyperbole to say that the iBook (and that same year's iMac) line shocked the world by introducing colors to computers, shattering the dominant beige paradigm present at that time. | The iBook is undoubtedly rugged, functional, powerful and fun, and it may even be beautiful. Having to pay an extra £350 for sufficient RAM and disk space to edit a modest home video hurts a little, though, and the lack of screen space is irritating. But in every other respect, the iBook has come of age.
