Das das Clamshell iBooks weder über ein internes Mikrofon noch einen Audio-in Anschluss verfügt, muss man dies über ein externes USB Gerät lösen. Eine zuverlässige Lösung, mit der man auch Schallplatten digitalisieren kann ist das Griffin iMic interface (Mikrofon nicht einbegriffen, nur die Anschlussmöglichkeit)
