The original version of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (released for the Mac in 2001 by the publisher MacPlay) was developed for the Apple hardware architecture of that time.

The main character awakens in a dungeon belonging to the mage Joneleth ‘Jon’ Irenicus. Once a member of the elven community in Suldanessalar, Irenicus was cast out and now seeks to obtain a portion of the divine essence held by the Bhaalspawn. With the power he gains, he plans to wage a campaign of vengeance against Suldanessalar and subsequently ascend to godhood.
